Two from Two for Satellite of Love

We were delighted to see Satellite of Love maintain his unbeaten record with another determined success in a competitive novice contest at Newbury on Saturday (18^th July), following up his winning debut at Windsor earlier in the season.

Partnered once again by Georgia Dobie, he broke smartly from the stalls and soon settled into a good position just behind the early leader. Travelling strongly throughout, he looked comfortable with the pace and still had plenty to offer as the field began to quicken approaching the final furlong.

When challenged late on, he showed a willing attitude to battle back, edging ahead in closing strides to prevail by a neck in a pleasing display that showed real determination. We have been very happy with the progress this two-year-old has been making at home, and it’s really encouraging to see him to continue to build on that promise on the racecourse – especially so early into his career. To remain unbeaten after two starts is a pleasing achievement, and he looks an exciting young sprinter with plenty to look forward to. We will now head to the Harry’s Half Million for his next target, which fits nicely from here. This is the same route we took with Song of the Clyde who finished second in this same novice last year.
