Song Of The Clyde Impresses with Listed Success at Newbury

Song Of The Clyde took his first step in Pattern company and won admirably on Saturday (16th May) for his lucky owners, Middleham Park racing.

Having started the season well, he finished 4th at Newmarket in handicap company but was giving plenty of weight away to the horses that finished in front of him on that occasion. Saturday’s performance showed a huge step forwards after making the running under Hector Crouch.

Always travelling smoothly, he battled off the highly touted Albert Einstein to win by a neck. The first two pulled two and a half lengths clear of the rest and in the last few strides he really showed his authority. He gives us confidence in his next step, which will be the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. He has well deserved an entry at this level after such a pleasing success here in the Carnarvon Stakes.

This is so exciting to follow on from such a successful two year old career, where Song Of The Clyde displayed a truly courageous display in the valuable sales races and this win puts his earning at £484,286. This is quite amazing and we are truly proud of him.
