Stepping back up to seven furlongs, we were delighted to see a noteworthy performance from Mythical Composure, who returned to the winner’s enclosure with a pleasing success in handicap company at Kempton on Monday (1st December).
Breaking sharply from the stalls, Rossa Ryan was quick to gather him, overcoming a wide draw to secure an early prominent position just behind the leader. Turning for home, the tempo lifted and the race unfolded into a fiercely contested finish, with several challengers lining up for their chance. In a determined head-to-head battle, and under a strong and persevering ride from Rossa, the colt showed great resolve to wear down his rival and win gamely by a neck.
As a now more experienced three-year-old, Mythical Composure has suffered a few unlucky starts this season, making this success especially rewarding. It marks his first win since breaking his maiden earlier last year, and we were pleased to see him apply himself so well on his first appearance in cheekpieces – a positive step to maintaining his focus, as we now look ahead.
A huge well done to his connections, Browns & Hornbys, on this deserved victory. We look forward to seeing more from him as this progression continues.
