Lethal Nymph Lands the Fever-Tree Handicap at Ascot

On Saturday 3rd September, the Beechdown team welcomed home another victory from the Trevor Fox homebred, Lethal Nymph. Partnered with jockey, John Fahy, the three-year-old gelding was back to his winning ways over the six furlongs on slightly easier ground at Ascot in this handicap.

Drawn wide, Lethal Nymph broke well from stall one of the nine runners and took up an early front running position leading the field down the centre of the track. Despite the prominent start, the closing stages saw him pressed by the competition, but he battled on gamely and we were really pleased to see him remain so determined in the final furlong to win by a neck. As always, a very pleasing performance for owner and breeder Trevor Fox and nice to celebrate another success with this horse, which now marks his third win this season, especially after his half brother, River Nymph, finished third in the earlier 7f National Racehorse Week Handicap.
