Kingdom Come Seals Lincoln Trial Success at Wolverhampton

It was a mark of further all-weather glory for Kingdom Come on Saturday (9th March) as the five-year-old bagged a valuable win with his Lincoln Trial Handicap triumph. On a rating of 101, this gelding has returned to action this year with two commendable frame finishes on the all-weather already under his belt, so we were delighted to see him achieve a win in such a spectacular fashion – an unwavering and competitive performance that now qualifies him for the AW Championships Finals Day, in the Open Handicap over 1m at Newcastle on Good Friday.

After a slightly shaky departure from the stalls, Rossa Ryan did well to quickly rebalance the horse and find a handy rhythm towards the rear as the race got off to a pacy start. Approaching closing stages, it seemed we weren’t best placed on the turn from home, but the pair found a whole new gear and split through rivals to make outstanding headway with plenty of momentum left in the tank. Gaining power with every stride, a very strong finish left them racing over the line to win by a head.

This was a very exciting race for Kingdom Come and a career best from him, as he is now settling better in his races and clearly gets home over a mile. We are delighted for his owning connections, China Horse Club International, as well as the hard-working team at home and greatly await more potential from him this season on the turf following the all-weather finals.
