Just Amber Lands Fillies Handicap at Lingfield

Following a 196 day absence from the track, Just Amber showcased her strong capabilities and racing potential as we celebrated her return to racing with a noteworthy win (26th April). Having secured her previous successes under a progressive form on the turf, this particular triumph marks her first win on the all-weather surface.

With Rossa Ryan on board, the four-year-old broke well to start and was then nicely tucked in on the outside. Racing over a mile distance, for a moment the filly appeared outpaced and was nudged along with two and a half furlongs to go. However, the turn for home and closing stages saw her show an immense turn of foot as she made a courageous effort to chase down the field, flying to the front and claiming the lead by 1 ¾ lengths. An inspiring comeback for this filly and delighted for her owning and breeder, Ken and Jane Lock.
