Impressive Handicap Debut for Thisonesforyou

We were delighted to see Thisonesforyou break his maiden in fine style on his first start in handicap company on Tuesday (14^th October), landing a comfortable ¾ length finish under a confident ride from Rossa Ryan.

Owned by Adrian Butler, this was a notable step forward from his previous three starts over 6f. On this occasion, stepping up in trip to one mile for the first time, he relished the extra distance and produced a much-improved effort.

Finding a handy position on the rails, he settled nicely in midfield, which worked to our advantage and provided some cover as he raced keenly in early stages. By the time the field approached the three-furlong marker, the two-year-old had relaxed into a nice rhythm, though he still had ground to make up. Rossa had to get tactical and angled him out wide to see what was left in the tank. Once in the clear, he quickened smartly, outflanking his rivals and producing an impressive turn of foot to power home strongly over the line.

This resilient finish suggests he is well suited to the step up in trip, and it was encouraging to see him gallop on so gamely with a late surge. He is an improving colt, and this was a deserved first career success that hints at further progress to come as he strengthens even more into next year.
