Ghostwriter Makes Debut Victory

With the two-year-old performances going from strength to strength this season, we were absolutely delighted to see this winning streak continue with Ghostwriter – a very talented prospect who is presenting himself early on as a precocious professional with a willing attitude to racing.

Entered in the ‘Newcomers’ Maiden Stakes at Newmarket over seven furlongs, Richard Kingscote was quick to engage after the break ensuring they were swift away in pursuit of pace and a positive position sat just off early leaders. Together, the pair travelled smartly, quietly gathering momentum, before pulling away from the field with a furlong from home. Storming clear, he crossed the line with an impressive 3½ lengths advantage.

This was a very notable debut showcase from this horse, nicely punctuated with a mature approach and a fine example of speed when chasing down the line. We’re really excited to see how his next run will follow and what promise he holds for his owner, Jeff Smith.
