Diligent Harry Continues to Impress in Meydan Sprint

We are delighted to safely welcome home Diligent Harry after his tremendous performance out in Dubai a couple of weeks ago. Following his string of Listed successes on the all-weather earlier in the year, this was the first time he has stepped up to face Group One level company and, amongst a very competitive field, we were beyond thrilled to see him pass the post in a very credible third place in the Al Quoz Sprint. Only beaten a length and a half, the six-year-old travelled very smartly moving through the six furlongs and was last off the bridle losing very little in defeat behind two highly ranked opponents. A very prominent ride was given by his jockey, Richard Kingscote, awarding a sensational result for his owning syndicate, The Dilinquents.

It's always a wonderful moment when exciting horses enable first-class entries that take us further afield, and to return to Meydan in time for the racing carnival finale was a truly magnificent occasion to be part of. Diligent Harry is a real stable star and having always shown much promise at home, we are all so proud to see him accomplish such a fantastic result. Off the back of two Listed victories in February and this journey travelling abroad, it’s marvellous to see him produce what we always believed him capable of achieving. Although he is still yet to win on the turf, he is a very experienced and talented sprinter with a respectable form gained from the all-weather, so we hope to put that to rights very soon. Next on his agenda is an entry in the Group 2 Duke of York over 6f at York on 15th May. Following this there will be plenty of opportunity to consider, with those big summer meetings still in front of us.

As always, a huge well done to the team at home with a very special thanks to Amy Dickens for taking such excellent care of him whilst away.
