Crafty Spirit Secures Debut at Kempton

Landing his handicap debut last Wednesday (29th May) with great success, three-year-old colt Crafty Spirit was eager to please as he secured his first victory on the track for his owner and breeder, Con Harrington. Placed prominently on the inner rails, Richard Kingscote gave him an excellent ride with an enduring finish that saw him quick off the mark to challenge in closing stages and hold the lead by a neck.

After previously running over seven furlongs, the drop back to six in combination with the all-weather surface and added cheek-pieces all seemed to be key ingredients to this winning formula on the day. Appreciating this fine-tuning, we watched him come alive in this race and were delighted to see him showcase his ability out on the track that we’ve known him to have at home. Sired by Invincible Spirit, his pedigree is one that holds much promise, so we are glad to see him progress in his form and his confidence will grow from this performance. We look forward to more from him as we weigh up his next suitable entries.
