Bassenthwaite Finishes in Front at Ffos Las

Another two-year-old got off the mark on Wednesday (9^th July) as Bassenthwaite claimed victory in the 5f Novice Stakes at Ffos Las, ridden confidently by David Probert.

Always travelling smoothly, the colt made steady progress throughout and finished strongly to win by three-quarters of a length, suggesting there was more in the tank. This was his third career start and he’s shown clear improvement with each outing, which has been very pleasing to see both in his training at home and performing on the track. Having displayed promise on his first two starts, he took another step forward and secured his debut in style. He's shaping up as an interesting prospect for sprint nurseries later this season.
