On 1st February, Positive was entered into the 1m Handicap at Kempton and we were thrilled to watch him cross the line in front with Adam Kirby on board, and secure owner Alan Spence’s first success of the year.
Breaking well, Positive made a good start finding a steady rhythm in the middle of the field, before he started to quicken on the turn from home. Switching him to the outside on the home straight, we saw him respond quickly to open up the pace. Gaining with every stride, he battled on to challenge his contender, where he won by a short head in an exciting photo finish. Great to see his class outshine the competition on the day and giving the second horse thirteen pounds was a great achievement. We hope all goes well as we are considering the mile all weather finals day on Good Friday as his next start.
