On Thursday (8th September) the Beechdown team celebrated another winning two-year-old, as Ancestral Land brought home his first win at Chepstow in the Lonetree Novice Stakes. Following this colt’s promising debut at Windsor back in June, it was pleasing to see him go one better in place over the same six-furlong distance; this time with Rossa Ryan at the helm, riding in the racing silks of Isa Salman Al Khalifa.
Breaking sharply, and running on to quickly establish a lead, the half-way point showed him being asked to quicken and a change in gear saw him smartly pull away from the field to gain a three-length advantage. A very pleasing, prominent race to watch and we look forward to when his racing scope is showcased in better company.
