A Winning Debut at Salisbury for Bold Shout

We were delighted to see Bold Shout get off the mark at Salisbury on Wednesday, winning the Novice Stakes comfortably by 2¾ lengths on just his third start.

Stepping back to six furlongs, he showed plenty of intent from the outset, breaking smartly from the stalls before Hector Crouch settled him into a prominent position on the outside. Travelling well throughout, he began to make his challenge as they approached the final two furlongs, responding gamely when asked and pulling clear in the closing stages to win with plenty in hand.

The decision to geld him earlier in the season appears to have brought about a more focused performance, while the well-prepared ground on the day also seemed to suit him well.

Congratulations to Stephen Barrow and Julie Deadman, who can enjoy a well-deserved first success with this promising two-year-old.
