A Salisbury Success for Pride of Toledo

Following an encouraging debut earlier this month, Pride of Toledo took another significant step forward to break his maiden in the Novice Stakes at Salisbury on Saturday (26th July).

Partnered by Callum Rodriguez, the colt broke smartly and, despite racing a little keenly through the early stages, settled into a prominent position just behind the leaders. Travelling strongly throughout, he was asked for his effort approaching the final furlong and responded impressively, quickening clear to score by an authoritative three and a quarter lengths.

It was a highly encouraging performance from the juvenile, who is continuing to learn with every outing. In a race that lacked an abundance of early pace, he showed both professionalism and an eye-catching turn of foot when it mattered most. It will be exciting to see how he progresses in a stronger-run contest, where his finishing speed could prove an even greater asset.
