It was a very smart performance from Diligent Harry on Sunday (4th February) as he won the BetUK Kachy Stakes Listed race on the all-weather at Lingfield. A tremendous result for the Beechdown team and his owning syndicate, The Dilinquents, as well as Ryan Moore in the saddle who secured his first domestic winner of 2024.
Going into the race, Diligent Harry had wintered well with a sufficient break and was returning to the track fighting fit and well. Drawn one of a field of just six runners, we were well positioned for the break and he was very quick to take up the lead, controlling the pace with a lovely forward going rhythm on the rails. Neatly quickening on the turn for home, he furthered his advantage with a length in hand to fend off the reopposing Annaf – who we narrowly finished second to in this same race last year.
A very pleasing outcome and we were delighted for this six-year-old, who now marks his sixth winning all-weather achievement. We look ahead to further his promising campaign on this surface and translate this later in the year as we kick off on the turf. The exciting prospect of a Dubai entry is also in contention, as we now consider his next opportunity.
