A First Success at Ffos Las for Jaan Ki Tukri

We were delighted to welcome two-year-old Jaan Ki Turki’s debut success last week (14^th July), as the colt got off the mark with a promising four-length win at Ffos Las in a Maiden over six furlongs.

Having gained valuable experience in some strong company earlier this season, including a highly respectable effort in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, the colt looked to have learnt plenty from his previous outings. That progression was clear to see on this occasion, where he travelled with confidence throughout – totally unchallenged – in a start to finish lead, where he also broke the track record.

Rossa Ryan gave him a positive, well-assured ride, allowing him to settle into a lovely rhythm from the outset, and he responded well when asked to lengthen, maintaining the advantage out in a front in a very decisive fashion.

We have been very pleased with the way Jaan Ki Tukri has been progressing at home, and it was encouraging to see that work translated so effectively on the racecourse. To see him break him maiden with such confidence is a pleasing step forward, and we hope there is plenty more to come as he continues to strengthen and mature. A very well done to his owner, Arjun Waney, who celebrates this debut victory.
