A Doncaster Debut for Langstone

We were delighted to welcome Langstone’s first victory last week on his seasonal reappearance at Doncaster on Sunday (29th March), where he won by a neck over seven furlongs on the turf.
Ridden in the Teme Valley and Aura Racing colours by Rob Hornby, the pair were quick away from the stalls and found a lovely rhythm just off the early leaders. In a patient bid to find an opening, Rob did a brilliant job to keep momentum building before switching to the stand side, where they soon made-up ground and stole the lead in final strides with an exciting finish.
He is a promising three-year-old who has been gelded since his debut at Leicester and the step up in trip clearly suited, so we look forward to seeing more from him as the season continues. I think he is the biggest youngster we have ever trained and weighed out at a massive 586kg. A very well done to all connections involved on his debut success.
