Showing promise after stepping her up in trip and finishing in the frame on her last outing at Salisbury, we were delighted that three-year-old filly, Movie Star Looks, accomplished her first victory on Wednesday (23rd August).
Racing in the Fillies Handicap at Leicester over 1m4f, this entry marked her fourth this season, and after some unlucky finishes earlier in the year (over shorter distances) we are very pleased to finally celebrate a success. Ridden under the steer of John Fahy, the pair broke well and were quick to steal the advantage and take up the lead with a steady gallop. Looping for home, the pace stepped up with three furlongs to go, but she fended off her competition strongly with a classy start to finish lead and 1¼ lengths clear. A terrific win for her owners, Simon Hope and Stephen Barrow.
