It was a tremendous result on Monday (31st July) as we celebrated Mambo Beat’s first success at Ffos Las in the 1m2f Handicap. When starting out his career, he showed optimistic ability as a promising two-year-old but sadly followed some setbacks that meant time away from the track – not to mention a recent wind operation – so we were over the moon to see him finally finish with his head in front on achieving this fantastic win.
Appearing slow away, his jockey on board (Rossa Ryan) was quick to establish a positive position sitting a couple of lengths off the leader, where he gathered momentum until three from home. Galloping into the final stretch, it was great to see he was last off the bridle and seemingly strong as he challenged his close contender, before battling on to pick up the running and storm clear with a 2 ½ length advantage over the line.
After a patient journey with this horse, it was wonderful to see him perform so eagerly and we are delighted to have him back on the track, fit and well. A great result for his owning syndicate, Middleham Park Racing, and we look forward to the opportunities that will unfold for him next.
